Please join us on May Day, May 1st, at 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. for a book conversation and celebration with Frank Chapman.

Frank Chapman is a veteran community organizer, formerly incarcerated citizen, and social movement strategist. His activism and commitment to racial justice extends back to the 1960s and 70s when he was active in labor and community struggles. He is currently field organizer and educational director for the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, a group that played an impactful role in the Justice for Laquan McDonald campaign, and helped to win the enactment of the Empowering Communities for Public Safety (ECPS) ordinance. He is author of a 2022 political memoir that surveys his fascinating life journey, entitled, The Damned Don’t Cry.

Aislinn Pulley is Executive Director at the Chicago Torture Justice Center, and a long time organizer who has worked on a variety of campaigns including the Reparations Now movement to pass the historic 2015 Reparations Ordinance for survivors of CPD torture, campaigns for justice for families who have lost loved ones to police violence. Aislinn also founded the Chicago chapter of Black Lives Matter, and was a member of a performance ensemble dedicated to ending sexual assault. Aislinn is an alumnus at Columbia College Chicago and North Park University.
