Social, Economic and Racial Justice Network

Logos for units

The new Social, Economic and Racial Justice (SERJ, pronounced ‘surge’) Network, brings together UIC units engaged in social and racial justice research and community engagement to build our collaborative potential and deepen our collective work.

The SERJ partnering units are the Social Justice Initiative, Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy , Racial Justice, Violence and the Law Project in the UIC Criminology, Law, and Justice Department, Great Cities Institute, Community Enterprise & Solidarity Economy Clinic in the UIC School of Law. They are distinct units that make different and important contributions to the public mission of UIC.

The overall goal of SERJ is to amplify the university’s footprint within social and racial justice research, scholarship, teaching and community engagement.
