Download iCal FileArtists, activists, workers and students have long hoped and struggled for greater justice, equity and freedom in the city of Chicago, a city divided by race, economics and culture. The most recent mayoral election was polarizing but the city’s new mayor has promised a more justice city, more transparency and accountability from City Hall.
This program will host a conversation with Chicago’s new mayor, Mayor Brandon Johnson, and a discussion with activists working on the frontline of critical issues from immigration, to police accountability, to environmental justice to housing and education. We are honored to host Dr. Angela Davis who will offer virtual remarks during the program as well.
Activists featured include Maurice Mitchell (Working Families Party), Jung Yoon (Grassroots Collaborative), Aislinn Pulley (Chicago Torture Justice Center), Rich Wallace (Equity and Transformation), Any Huamani (Brighton Park Neighborhood Council), Jitu Brown (Journey for Justice Alliance), Asha Ransby-Sporn (United Working Families) and Kennedy Bartley (Chicago Torture Justice Memorial)
