The Pipeline to Justice (P2J) is an academic and scholarship program at the University of Illinois-Chicago for non-traditional and diverse students with community leadership backgrounds and an interest in social justice.
P2J focuses on first generation college students, immigrant and under-represented students who are passionate about ‘justice’, and have a background in leadership, service, and community organizing. In the City of Chicago there is an underutilized reservoir of knowledge embodied in grassroots community leaders and organizers, non-profit professionals, socially conscious artists, and others. At UIC these individuals can acquire skills, credentials as well as time and space to reflect on their work. Through a combination of academic and engaged learning experiences, P2J scholars become prepared to more effectively lead and do work that advances social justice.
