Announcing the 2026 Justice Lens Film Series

The Social Justice Initiative at UIC is pleased to announce the 2026 Justice Lens Film Series, which explores issues of disappearance and memory in conjunction with our current art exhibition, We're Not All Here/No Estamos Todes by Chilean-Canadian artist Soledad Fátima Muñoz.
Mark your calendars to attend our film screenings, which are free and open to the public, and often accompanied by unique opportunities to connect with the filmmakers, artists, and scholars engaged in leading edge research.
Screenings will take place from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at the Chicago Justice Gallery (1344 S Halsted Street).

A personal search for answers about disappeared loved ones and colleagues during Argentina’s military dictatorship, followed by Q&A with director Juan Mandelbaum

A documentary about race, statelessness, and the Domincan-Haitian borderlands, followed by panel discussion with Dr. Lorgia García Peña, Dr. Manoucheka Celeste, and Dr. Natalie Bennett.
