Jasson is an organizer with the Black Youth Project 100 around issues of police and government accountability.
While at UIC,
Jasson has presented at the Otherwise Worlds conference hosted by UC-Riverside and contributed to an anthology on Black youth organizing.
Charity is a native Chicagoan. She is engaged in community-based research to explore the connections between the foster care system and the prison system.
Charity has maintained a 4.0 GPA and successfully completed her George Soros Fellowship since she started at UIC.
Ethan Veits Van Lear
Ethan is a part of an anti-violence men’s group called Circles and Ciphers. He is also a talented poet, and works on issues of food justice and community gardens in Rogers Park.
Ethan has attended gatherings and conferences throughout the year including the Critical Ethnic Studies Conference at York University in Toronto, Canada.
Alexis works with the People’s Law Office, a legal cooperative that provides pro-bono work in civil and human rights cases.
Alexis completed the year successfully while working part time at the People’s Law Office.
David is a longtime advocate and organizer for LGBTQ youth rights in Illinois schools and juvenile jails.
Breanna is an organizer with the Black Youth Project 100 and works with Chicago Votes. She presented to the Committee Against Torture at the United Nations in Geneva in 2014.
